It is with a heavy heart we say goodbye to our one and only, Miss Thelma Young. After a long battle with cancer, Thelma passed away on November 30, 2019. We will always remember Thelma’s smiling face and the friendships she formed over the course of a decade. She is survived by her daughter, Phylicia Young; husband, Walter J Young, Sr., four sisters, two brothers, and a host of other relatives and friends.
We are excited to announce the relocation of our Washington Express (WEX) and Office Movers Express (OMX) offices. Located in Beltsville, our team is now working together under one building with an attached 40,000 square foot warehouse for our growing moving division.

Our one and only, Miss Thelma Young will be retiring from Washington Express at the end of 2016 after 16 years of hard work and loyal service. Thelma’s smiling face and sassy comments have been a fixture to her colleagues and clients alike with many of them striking up real life friendships over the course of the past decade and a half. Some clients were even lucky enough to meet her in person or receive some of her famous Christmas cupcakes. We wish nothing but the very best for Miss Thelma and know she will make great use of her newfound freedom, we only hope she has the time for the occasional visit from time to time

This is a big year for Washington Express as it is our 35th year in business. Looking back over the years, we are proud of how far we’ve come. From a small back alley courier dispatch office on 14th Street, we have grown with our customers and are now an automated logistics and professional services firm with five divisions, including a national federal filing service and a same day florist, Nosegay Flowers.
Founded in 1981, Washington Express is the oldest bike courier company in town. And that’s probably because it managed to keep rolling with the times. In the 1980s – before fax and email took over the city’s offices – the company had about 100 bike messengers, plus couriers on other vehicles.
In order to diversify its business, Washington Express has moved into the floral industry where delivery is paramount.
